Expectation of Parents

Expectation of Parents

We understand that parents and guardians are perhaps the most important ingredient for succes in our league, for it is they who bring their children to practices and games, who wash the uniforms and make sure everyone has their shoes and socks, and who are there to cheer the team to victory or console the team after a loss. At many of the venues where games are played, the parents, guardians, and family members are located on the court very close to the action. It is very easy to get emotionally attached to the game and the action on the floor. Therefore, we believe it is essential for parents to demonstrate discipline and dedication to the following expectations:

1. Notify the coach if your child is unable to attend any game or practice. Children should arrive at the venue of each game at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
 2. Demonstrate respect for the coaches, referees, other parents, and members of both teams. Berating coaches, referees, scorekeepers, or players of other teams is unacceptable. Profanity and bad behavior is not allowed. Failure to abide by these standards may be cause for asking the violating parent to leave the game. Leave coaching to the coaches.
 3. If you have any questions, such as playing time or any concerns about the league, discuss your concerns with the coach away from the game. At any time, you may always address any concerns to the League Director, Chip Stroud at (904) 553-1597or [email protected].
